Over 300 professional and amateur athletes representing surfing clubs from California, Hawai’i, New Jersey, and Japan will compete at First Point, one of the world’s best point breaks.

The Malibu Surfing Association will be contributing proceeds from the event to local charities and organizations, including Heal the Bay.

Join the Malibu Surfing Association as it hosts one of the world’s premier surfing contests, the Classic Invitational at Surfrider Beach, in Malibu. This year marks the first time that Heal the Bay is joining the Surfrider Foundation as an official sponsor of this world-renowned surfing event.

Come out September 8 – 9, 2007 to enjoy this quintessentially, southern Californian beach sport with over 2,500 other spectators and cheer on your favorite surfers from the 300 amateurs and professionals that compete each year at the Malibu shores.

So don’t miss the sweet swells at one of the west coast’s largest longboard contests, and a chance to support Heal the Bay.

Plus, just added!!!...

John Doe, from the legendary band X, will be performing a benefit concert* Friday, September 7 at the Malibu Inn. Come out to rock with John Doe and The Knitters, while supporting Heal the Bay’s mission to keep your coastal waters and watersheds, including the Santa Monica Bay, safe, clean and healthy!

For MSA Classic Invitational details, including tickets for John Doe’s performance, visit www.msaclassic.com.

*All net proceeds from concert ticket sales will benefit Heal the Bay.
