About Internships

Internships are a great way to explore your particular environmental and ocean related interests while providing Heal the Bay with much needed assistance.

Internships are available throughout the year to interested adults seeking environmental experience or college credit. Lasting from weeks to several months, qualified individuals are assigned to specific projects working with experienced Heal the Bay staff. Internships are available at both Heal the Bay's main office and the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium.

Internships are generally unpaid, but all necessary training is provided. Qualified candidates should be well-organized, responsible, and have strong oral and written communication skills. For some internships a car will be necessary.

Interns are usually required to commit to at least 8-10 hours per week. If you are unable to work for that amount of time, you can still help out by being a Heal the Bay volunteer. Or, if you are interested in a paying position at Heal the Bay, please view our available job openings.
