Become a Heal the Bay Speakers Bureau Volunteer!

We are hosting our upcoming Speakers Bureau training sessions starting on November 8, 2022, a program that consists of 4 days of training (at Heal the Bay Headquarters and the Heal the Bay Aquarium), and a chance to practice your new found Speaker’s skills at our November Nothin’ But Sand beach cleanup on Saturday, November 19, 2022, where you will have chance to practice your new Speaker’s skills.

This FREE training is a great opportunity for anyone interested in gaining experience in environmental education, science, policy, community outreach, and public speaking.

Speakers Bureau is an educational program that focuses on providing environmental lectures to schools and businesses in Los Angeles County. We offer 5 different lecture topics, which we modify to fit any age group, from Pre-K to adults. We aim to reach as many students and community members as we can, as education and awareness are our strongest tools in helping our environment get the help it needs.

Responsibilities after completing Speakers Bureau training include preparing for your chosen talk the day of, making sure to arrive on time to the destination (not necessary if it is a virtual presentation), and coordinating with the client for any last-minute changes.
