Jasmine Schwam
Community Programs Associate
Jasmine Schwam is an environmental storyteller and science communicator based in Santa Monica. She recently completed her time at the University of California, Santa Barbara with a degree in Environmental Studies and a Professional Writing Minor in Science Communication. Jasmine is passionate about making ocean and climate science accessible, engaging, and relevant to everyday life.
At Heal the Bay, she supports community programs and environmental education initiatives, helping connect people of all ages to the coastal ecosystems of Southern California. Her work focuses on translating scientific topics into meaningful experiences that inspire stewardship and action.
Jasmine previously worked with the Benioff Ocean Science Laboratory, where she created multimedia content to communicate marine research to broader audiences. She is also the founder of UCSB’s Science Communication Club and was the founder and executive producer of The Environment of It All podcast.
In her free time, Jasmine enjoys hiking, open-water swimming, watercolor painting, and curating playlists inspired by the ocean.
