This community celebration honors the legacy of Nick Gabaldón, as California’s first documented surfer of African American and Mexican American descent — and continues the work of creating access, representation, ocean education, and healing through beach and surf culture.

After the beach, enjoy FREE admission to Heal the Bay Aquarium under the Santa Monica Pier, featuring award-winning exhibits, shark feedings, tide pool, and touch tank. Don’t miss this incredible day of surf, history, and community.
