Nothin’ But Sand Beach Cleanup at Ginger Rogers Beach
Join Heal the Bay for a beach clean-up at Ginger Rogers Beach! Celebrate Pride Month and help remove trash and debris before it washes out to the ocean.

About Ginger Rogers Beach, an LGBTQ+ Landmark
Located on Will Rogers State Beach near lifeguard towers 17 and 18, Ginger Rogers Beach has been an important gathering place for Los Angeles’ LGBTQ+ community since the 1940s. The stretch of beach earned its nickname from actress Ginger Rogers, whose glamorous and campy onscreen persona resonated with many queer beachgoers of the era. In 2023, Los Angeles County formally honored the beach’s history by painting its lifeguard towers in Progress Pride colors. Heal the Bay is honored to welcome you to this historic LGBTQ+ landmark for a day of community action, coastal care, and pride celebration.
