Coastal Cleanup Day Site Captain Training

Coastal Cleanup Day is the biggest environmental day of action of the year, inspiring millions of volunteers worldwide to make an impact. Here in Los Angeles County, Heal the Bay coordinates Coastal Cleanup Day efforts across more than 50 coastal, inland, dive, and kayak cleanup sites. This year, on September 21, 2024, Heal the Bay will celebrate its 35th year coordinating this amazing event, and we are expecting 7,000+ volunteers to participate in LA County alone!

The Coastal Cleanup Day (CCD) Site Captain Training is designed to teach you everything you need to know about Coastal Cleanup Day, to ensure you and your crew are well prepared to serve as leaders for your Coastal Cleanup Day site.

All Site Captains and Co-Captains must attend only ONE of the following training sessions.

In-person trainings will be located at Heal the Bay HQ: 1444 9th St, Santa Monica, CA 90401

  • June 27, 6:30 PM- 8:30 PM (In Person/Hybrid)
  • July 15, 6:30 PM- 8:30 PM (Online)
  • August 3, 1 PM-5 PM (In Person/Hybrid Symposium)
  • August 13, 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM (Online)
  • August 21, 6:30 PM – 8:30 (Online)
  • September 3, 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM (Online)
