Bring your plastic bags or plastic film products to Heal the Bay’s plastic bag collection booth at ALMA Backyard Farms this Sunday November 19, 2023, and make sure your plastic bags are recycled the right way.
First 100 visitors can trade in their single use plastic bags for REUSABLE TOTES filled with sweet sustainable swag!
Got tons of plastic bags hanging around the house? When these non-compostable plastic bags are thrown away, they can become devastating to the environment. Plastic Bags can quickly make their way from landfills to our watershed and become deadly to the ecosystems and wildlife in our oceans. This NO BAG NOVEMBER help Heal the Bay collect and recycle your bags the right way at our November 19 collection site. Then enjoy all the fun, fruits and festivities of ALMA Backyard Farms.

Rooted in restorative justice and environmental stewardship, ALMA started in 2013 to implement this project of reclaiming lives, repurposing land and reimagining community. ALMA proposes real solutions to the challenges of California’s overcrowded prisons and food injustice in low-income neighborhoods. Recognizing that no lives or land is to be wasted, ALMA creates opportunities for the previously incarcerated to become agents of health, safety and community.
They have amazing resources for their community such as urban agriculture job training and youth programming. I’m really excited and hopeful for the beginning of a fruitful partnership with them and I hope you all are too.
