Passion and enthusiasm are contagious — share yours with your community as a member of Heal the Bay's Speakers Bureau!
Heal the Bay speakers give presentations that raise awareness about the causes and consequences of ocean pollution and inspire people to take action.
We speak to a variety of audiences, including schools, businesses and community groups, educating thousands of people each year. No prior experience is necessary, but an aptitude for public speaking is helpful and a love of the environment is a must.
Speakers Bureau Training
Those interested in becoming a Heal the Bay speaker must first register and then attend the Speakers Bureau Training course. The course consists of three daytime sessions at the Heal the Bay office and one weekend training session during our Nothin’ But Sand monthly cleanup. The trainings are offered twice a year: February and August.
Throughout the month-long training, you will learn about the history of Heal the Bay, current issues we are working on, the causes of ocean pollution, and tips on public speaking. After completing the training, Speakers Bureau members receive weekly updates about upcoming speeches they can sign up for.
